Welcome
In
Memory of Adam Robert Bliss
As
people approached me in the receiving line at my son Adam’s
funeral, I found myself saying this over and over: “I’m
so sorry for your loss”. I really meant it.
The world lost a bright, shining beacon of light and caring when
Adam left us.
At the services, family, friends, and co-workers tearfully shared
how Adam had touched their lives. He will be sorely missed. But
he will always live within us.
After the services I began receiving an outpouring of messages
of how Adam life and death have changed other people’s lives.
Adam’s spirituality was based on “Helping”.
It is what he did and who he was.
Please
feel free to post your message here. Talk to Adam, his family,
and friends. Talk to all the people who are touched by his life
and his death. Talk and connect. It will help us cope as we miss
him.
I say to the whole world, "I'm so sorry for your loss."

Abou Ben Adhem
Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An Angel writing in a book of gold:
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the Presence in the room he said,
"What writest thou?" The Vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord
Answered,
"The names of those who love the Lord."
"And is mine one?" said Abou.
"Nay, not so,"
Replied the Angel.
Abou spoke more low,
But cheerily still; and said, "I pray thee, then,
Write me as one who loves his fellow men."
The Angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blessed,
And, lo! Ben Adhem's name led all the rest!
